Twelve days of Christmas quilts: Glass Angel

Christmas 2015 is drawing near, and we wanted to share some of the amazing, gorgeous Christmas quilts we've seen. Glass Angel by Jane Tenorio-Coscarelli (Lake Elsinore, California); quilted by Pamela Dransfeldt

Glass Angel was shown in a special exhibit, “The Cities of Angels” (Los Angeles, California and Puebla, Mexico), curated by Jane Coscarelli, at the 2014 Road to California quilt show. The quilt was adapted from a stained glass photo.   Jane says: “While on our trip to Puebla and Mexico City I was overwhelmed by all the beautiful stained glass in the churches. And I felt you could see the angels watching over you."

This quilt was made with cut-away whole cloth and hand applique techniques.  Jane Tenorio-Coscarelli designs unique, creative quilt patterns at her site, Quarter Inch Publishing; including many wonderful folklorico designs.
