One of the highlights of the red-and-white quilt show was an art deco Vortex Quilt dated 1910 (we featured it here). To our amazement, quilter Paula Yates not only re-created the original, but shared her instructions and templates in a three-part tutorial. Visit her blog, Quilt Rascal, to see Part One, Part Two and Part Three.

Two color quilts are some of my favorites! The are all wonderful, but that quilt by Shana is terrific.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all these amazing quilts and the patterns by these generous quilters :)
Ahhh, there's nothing like a red and white quilt. I've always wanted a schoolhouse quilt. And the denim quilts you've shown recently are splendid. I've got 3 piles of old jeans that I'll get to one of these days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for featuring such good work.
