Winter Wonderland, 64x 71, by Judy Getch, quilted by Rose Maynes
Judy won Third Place for her lovely quilt at 2020 Quilt Arizona ! show in Mesa, Arizona. She explains, "I started this quilt at a class taught by Marilyn Williams at the quilt shop in Wickenburg, Arizona, in 2013. It took me five years to get it finished."
Judy adds, "I loved doing the hand embroidery, but it was pretty slow. " We think Judy did an absolutely spectacular job on these adorable, playful snowmen. Her accuracy and precision in redwork embroidery is amazing ! We can clearly see every detail of these cute scenarios. Here are the snowmen flying down the hill in an old-fashioned toboggan; and below, they are merrily and loudly singing Christmas carols.
The Winter Wonderland pattern is available for purchase at Crabapple Hill Studio. The pattern package even includes recipes. These whimsical scenes are sure to lend brightness to even the the darkest of winter days.

BEAUTIFUL!!! I've either got that pattern or one similar but haven't touched it since the purchase was made. Probably will remain just a pattern (sadly).
ReplyDeleteI think this might inspire me to pull mine and out try to finish it. I've done the red work blocks but not the blocks surrounding them.
ReplyDeleteWish me luck!
Beautiful and inspiring!
