We're celebrating Independence Day with 8 days of red, white and blue
quilts! The Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1776), says: "We hold
these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that
they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that
among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." We hope
your happiness includes plenty of quilting.
Thirteen by Pamela Snow
Thirteen is a salute to the 13 original American colonies. Pamela Snow says, "Each year we salute America and her birthday on the 4th of July with fireworks. I have combined fireworks and 13 stars into this quilt. The thirteen red stars are hand appliqued on a background of fireworks exploding on a brilliant blue background. Dimension was added to the quilt by leaving the star edges “FREE”.
This original design was inspired by a Christmas ornament; it was entered in the Salute America theme at the 2017
Arizona Quilters Guild show. Pamela continues, "I quilted the background on my Handiquilter using a fireworks design.
Nothing says America better than red, white and blue."
