Dancing Twilight: the Ice Quilt

It's Day 7 of our Winter Quilts Series! We first came across this starry quilt two years ago. Based on the Dancing Twilight pattern by Cheryl Malkowski, the lap size version of this quilt was featured by Timeless Treasures in two colorways: "Fire" and "Ice". Cheryl describes the quilt as "one of the easiest quilts you'll ever make".  Here is the icy version.

The quilts are constructed from an easy-to-piece block that repeats across the quilt as the colors progress from light to dark.   The Ice Quilt kit features 18 Tonga Batiks in beautiful gradations of color, as seen at Quilted Threads:


The cool blues and whites of the Tonga batiks are perfect choices for Cheryl's design.  Here are some of the stunning hand-dyed batiks in the ICE collection, which you can see at Red Rooster Quilts:
