This beautifully made quilt is full of detail. Each tree has a unique miniature quilt block, and the sashing has hand-embroidered lettering. The lyrics are from a Christmas carol composed in 1847 by the French composer Adolphe Adam:
O Holy Night, the Stars are Brightly Shining
It is the Night of our Dear Savior's Birth.

O Holy Night, made and quilted by Charlene Nelson.
Charlene Nelson says, "I found the 4.5 inch miniature blocks in books, mostly by Judy Hopkins. I hand-embroidered the letters using two strands of different threads and added the 3-inch stars in the sashing. Our 'Gone to Pieces' quilt group did this as a quilt-along starting this January. They are all very different."
Machine-stitched snowflakes echo the snowflake designs in the background fabric.
