Stars and Stripes Forever

On Flag Day (June 14th) we're enjoying some flag-themed quilts from recent shows!  Here's a beautiful machine-embroidered quilt with stars, fireworks, and a personal story that underlies the message: Stars and Stripes Forever

Long May She Wave by Christine Mahon, quilted by Sharon Elsberry.

Christine Mahon says, "I served in the US Army for 27 years including deployment to Desert Storm.  The flag and what it represents — freedom, our republic and all that makes America so blessed — have always been important to me.

I made this embroidered piece years ago in an Artista Club class with Claudia Dinell [of Claudia's Creations].  As we approached [our nation's] 250th anniversary, I decided to give it new life and finish it as a wall hanging to commemorate the anniversary.  Long May She Wave indeed!"
