Welcome to our tribute to Valentine's Day quilts ! With its emphasis
on love, kindness and caring for others, Valentine's Day is one of our
favorite celebrations. We're calling it "Twelve Days of Hearts, Flowers,
and Friendship." Let's continue with Day 6:
Celebration, 35 x 35", by Lynne Taylor (Cape Girardeau, Missouri)
Lynne Taylor is a master quilter who has won numerous awards, including Best of Show in the Miniature quilt division at the 2011 AQS show in Paducah, Kentucky. Celebration was juried into the 2016 American Quilters' Society show in Phoenix, Arizona. The quilt is filled with incredible appliqued, pieced and quilted details, such as the tiny flower within the heart, below...
... and the cathedral windows block within this heart...
Lynne made Celebration for her guild's 25th Birthday Challenge. There are 25 hearts representing the guild's heart-shaped logo, along with tiny yellow hearts that embellish the border; and quilted feather hearts in the corners.
