Best Pictorial Quilt: 2022 PIQF

The Pacific International Quilt Festival was recently held in Santa Clara, California. This year's show featured over 400 quilts and garments on exhibit. We're featuring some of our favorite quilts!

Complicated and Intriguing by Linda J. Herrera (California)

Dall Sheep, 60 x 64", by Jodi L. Davila (Arizona)

Winner of Best Pictorial Quilt, Jodi L. Davila says, "The Dall sheep with its incredible horns is an animal I truly enjoyed creating with fabric. I chose the pose of this particular sheep that seemed to say, 'Hey, look at me!' My art continues to evolve with every animal I make and the unique challenges presented with each one."

The quilt was based on an original photo by John Berryman, used with permission. Some details of the outstanding quilting can be seen below.
